Privacy Policy

In short. This policy covers the Stackrift website (stackrift.dev) and our company. We collect very little here — essentially your email if you subscribe to our newsletter, plus standard server logs. We don’t run ad trackers or sell your data. Each of our apps has its own privacy policy covering that app.

1. Who we are

Stackrift is an independent software studio. We are the data controller for the information described in this policy. You can reach us any time at support@stackrift.dev.

2. Scope

This policy applies to the Stackrift website at stackrift.dev and to company-level processing. It does not cover data handled inside our apps — each app has its own policy. For our app Koda, see the Koda Privacy Policy. Policies for future apps (e.g. Rehearse) will be published the same way.

3. Information we collect on this website

Newsletter signups. If you subscribe, we collect your email address (and nothing else) so we can send you updates you asked for. Subscriptions are handled by our email provider, Resend.

Messages you send us. If you email us, we keep your message and contact details to respond.

Standard server logs. Like most websites, our host (Vercel) automatically records basic technical data such as IP address, browser type, and pages requested, used to operate and secure the site.

No ad tracking. The website runs no advertising trackers, no third-party analytics, and no non-essential cookies.

4. How we use it

To send the newsletter you subscribed to; to respond to your messages; and to operate, secure, and improve the website. That’s it.

5. Legal bases (EEA/UK)

Where the GDPR/UK GDPR applies, we rely on your consent for the newsletter (withdraw any time by unsubscribing) and our legitimate interests in operating and securing the site.

6. Third parties

We use Vercel (website hosting), Resend (newsletter delivery), and Cloudflare (DNS). Each is governed by its own privacy policy. We share only what each needs to perform its function.

7. The newsletter & unsubscribing

Every newsletter email includes a one-click unsubscribe link, and you can also email us to be removed. We never sell or rent your email address.

8. Data retention

We keep your newsletter subscription until you unsubscribe. Server logs are retained for a limited period for security and operations and then discarded.

9. International transfers

We and our providers process data in the United States and possibly other countries. Where required, transfers are protected by appropriate safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses.

10. Your rights

Depending on where you live (e.g. GDPR/UK GDPR, California’s CCPA/CPRA), you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or port your data, and to object to or restrict certain processing. To exercise these rights, email support@stackrift.dev. You may also complain to your local data protection authority.

11. Children

This website is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children through it.

12. Security

The site is served over HTTPS with strict security headers. No system is perfectly secure, but we apply reasonable, industry-standard safeguards.

13. Our apps

Data you provide inside our apps is governed by each app’s own privacy policy, not this one. See the Koda Privacy Policy.

14. Changes

We may update this policy from time to time; the “Last updated” date above reflects the latest revision.
